Carmen
Corella
With an outstanding career in dance, Carmen, director and teacher of Corella, began her training at the school of Victor Ullate, forming part of his company before joining the American Ballet Theatre in New York as a soloist dancer.
Co-founder, along with her brother, of the Corella Ballet, she has shone on international stages. Her artistic versatility is manifested not only in show business and teaching, but also in the world of fashion and in her film participations.
Carmen Corella, Director and Professor of Corella, has forged an outstanding career in the world of classical ballet. She began her training at Víctor Ullate's school in Madrid and, in 1990, joined his company, marking the beginning of an exceptional artistic career.
Her passion and talent led her to cross borders, joining the renowned American Ballet Theatre of New York as a soloist dancer.
Her dedication and expressiveness on stage won over the American public and the specialized critics, who highlighted her art in the main cultural publications of the country. Thus, she consolidated her place as a very special figure on the international scene.
In 2008, Carmen co-founded Corella Ballet with her brother Ángel Corella, assuming fundamental roles as assistant artistic director and principal dancer. Her influence transcended the stage, participating in campaigns with renowned brands such as Loewe and Henten.
In 2014, together with her brother and her husband Dayron Vera, she took her art throughout Spain with the show A + A, accompanied by the virtuoso violinist Ara Malikian. This emotional tour culminated with Carmen and Ángel's farewell to the stage, in an unforgettable closing in their hometown, Madrid.
In 2022, her commitment to dance was reflected in her participation as a company teacher in the feature-length ballet film "The Glass Girls" (Netflix).
Throughout her career, Carmen has demonstrated great versatility, combining her stage virtuosity with a deep understanding of the body. She is a certified instructor in GYROTONIC® Level 1, GYROTONIC® for Dancers Level 1 and GYROKINESIS® Level 1, disciplines that enrich both the technique and the physical well-being of the dancers.
Today, Carmen continues to share her experience and wisdom as Director of Corella, along with her husband Dayron Vera, inspiring new generations of artists with the same passion that has guided her entire career.
